The short version
- Poetic runs inside your Shopify store. Your customers’ data stays with Shopify and isn’t sent to us.
- We only collect what you send us, like a support message or a waitlist email, plus basic server logs.
- This website uses cookie-free visit counts and no advertising or tracking cookies.
- We use your information to help you and to tell you about launches you signed up for. We never sell it.
- You can ask us to see or delete your information at any time.
Who we are
Inspired Labs (“we”, “us”) makes the Poetic Shopify theme and the Frontier Shopify app, and offers a store setup service. This policy covers the Poetic theme, byinspiredlabs.com and our support. It applies when you use Poetic in your store, browse the site, fill in a form or contact our team. It replaces the version of August 2, 2025.
Other services have their own policies:
- Frontier app: see the Frontier privacy policy.
- Buying Poetic: Shopify processes your Theme Store purchase under Shopify’s privacy policy.
- Store setup: the service is bought on inspiredtheme.com, under the privacy policy shown at checkout there.
Poetic in your store
Poetic is a Shopify theme. It runs inside your store on Shopify’s platform.
- Your customers’ data stays with Shopify. Orders, customer accounts and anything visitors submit through Poetic’s forms, such as newsletter sign-ups, contact messages and back-in-stock requests, are handled and stored by Shopify. They appear in your Shopify admin.
- We don’t receive it. Poetic doesn’t send your store’s or your customers’ data to Inspired Labs.
- Your store, your policy. For your own visitors, you’re responsible for your store’s privacy policy and any cookie notice they need. Shopify provides tools for both.
- Embedded content. If you add YouTube or Vimeo videos or content from other services, those services may collect data from your visitors under their own policies.
We only see your store’s data if you give us collaborator access, as described below.
Information we collect
When you contact us
Through the contact form or by email, you may send us:
- Your name and email address.
- Your store URL, the product and reason you’re contacting us about and, for app questions, the theme you use.
- A collaborator request code, if you want us to look at your store’s admin.
- Your message and any files you attach, such as screenshots or recordings.
- The page you sent the form from and the page that linked to it, which helps us understand the context.
When you join the Frontier waitlist
- Your email address.
When you browse the site
- Our hosting provider records standard server logs, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. These logs keep the site secure and working.
- This site doesn’t use advertising or tracking cookies. Apart from Help Scout’s support widget (Beacon), it doesn’t load fonts or scripts from third parties. Beacon loads from Help Scout and may store small amounts of data in your browser so it can show your past messages.
- We use Vercel Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages are popular, and Vercel Speed Insights to measure how quickly pages load. They record the page address, the referring site and general details such as device type, browser and country. Neither uses cookies, and visitors aren’t identified or tracked across other websites.
When you give us collaborator access
If you approve our collaborator request so we can help with your theme, install Poetic or set up your store, we can see the parts of your Shopify admin you allow. That can include store data such as products or orders. We use this access only for the help you asked for, and you can remove it at any time in your Shopify admin.
How we use it
- To answer your questions, fix problems and provide the help you asked for.
- To email you when Frontier launches, if you joined the waitlist.
- To keep the website secure and prevent spam and abuse.
- To improve our products and documentation based on what people ask us.
- To meet our legal obligations.
Where the law requires a legal basis, we rely on your consent (the waitlist), on steps you ask us to take (support), or on our legitimate interest in running and securing our business.
We don’t sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we don’t use it for advertising.
Who processes data for us
| Provider | What they do |
|---|---|
| Help Scout | Our support inbox and the support widget (Beacon) on this site. Contact form messages, attachments and Frontier waitlist sign-ups are stored there so our team can reply and tell you when Frontier launches. |
| Vercel | Hosts this website and the server code that receives form submissions, and provides cookie-free visit counts (Web Analytics) and page-speed measurement (Speed Insights). |
| Email delivery provider | Delivers form submissions to our inbox and sends emails such as launch announcements. |
| Shopify | Provides collaborator access when you approve it, and runs the Theme Store and App Store. |
We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or users’ safety, or with a buyer if Inspired Labs is ever sold or merged, under this same policy.
How long we keep it
- Support conversations are kept so we can help you with follow-up questions. Ask us and we’ll delete them, unless we need to keep something by law.
- Waitlist emails are kept until Frontier launches and we’ve told you, or until you unsubscribe.
- Server logs are kept for a short time by our hosting provider and then deleted automatically.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal information, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to withdraw consent. To make a request, contact us using the details below. We’ll reply within the time the law requires. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Every launch email includes a link to unsubscribe.
Security
The site runs over HTTPS, and form submissions go straight to our support inbox and aren’t stored on the website. We never ask for your store password. Please use a collaborator request instead. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
International transfers
Our providers may process information in countries other than yours, including the United States. Where the law requires it, we rely on safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
Children
Our website and products are for businesses and aren’t directed at children under 16. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children.
Links to other websites
Our site links to other sites, such as the Shopify Theme Store, our Help Center and inspiredtheme.com. Their own privacy practices apply when you visit them.
Changes to this policy
We’ll post any changes on this page and update the effective date above. If a change is significant, we’ll make it clear on the site.
